These people, organizations and places were developed for us by us.

TAKE started out as a peer support group for trans women of color (TWOC) to come together and share their narratives. The organization soon discovered that it needed to be more than a support group. The group began to focus on issues such as discrimination in the workplace, housing advocacy, support for sex workers, providing trans-friendly services, and working to alleviate the many other barriers that TWOC face that no one else was talking about. Check out their programs here when you donate.

TKO fulfills an unmet need in Alabama because it exists in direct response to the growing number of folks who are having difficulty achieving resources to reach transition goals. The program identifies “at risk” individuals and offers positive support systems that help them avoid pitfalls that can derail their lives. The long-term goal is to grow TKO into a community compound which serves as a resource for individuals and groups to develop self-sufficiency, organizing, and agricultural skills, as well as provide jobs and apprenticeships to at-risk LGBTQ youth and adults. At its core, TKO is focused on creating leaders and safe spaces that encourage sustainability and developmental solutions for our community. Check out their work when you donate!
