The African Heritage Festival is June 22, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Birmingham Museum of Art. Celebrate vibrant traditions and cultures of regions throughout the African diaspora at the BMA’s free-of-charge African Heritage Festival. This family-oriented festival honors African heritage through art, crafts, music, dance, and more. Featuring a powerful performance by Atlanta-based African drumming and dance group Giwayen Mata.

BHAM Juneteenth Celebration

Celebrate freedom from enslavement of African-Americans in the U.S. who were not freed until after the end of the Civil War in April of 1865. We'll begin with with a reading of the Emancipation Proclamation, an elder blessing and libation ceremony followed by the sounds of Birmingham natives NeoSoul artist Love Moor, rapper and singer Richard Daniel, along with DJ SERIOUS on crowd control.

This Yoga class will be set to trap music curated by DJ BLK Alchemy and taught by Tori Wolfe-Sisson. 
ALL abilities, color communities & LGBTQ+ are welcome to join us!

We are proud to partner with BLK Pearl and Yoga Unbound who will be accepting donations that help to fund a scholarship will be at the door, as well as merchandise for sale

Rachelle Burrow will be our lead facilitator with the assistance of a moderator.

We seek to nurture bonds of kinship and solidarity among Black, Brown, Indigenous Transgender and Queer Women by looking in the mirror and exploring opportunities for growth.

This BLK Sibling Circle will explore trauma, domestic violence, abuse, parenting and other shared experiences through the context of Transgender and Queer Women of Color raised in the South.

Founded in 2017, Magic City Fashion Week aims to cultivate, connect, and showcase the artistic community of Birmingham, AL through fashion. MCFW places a strong emphasis on the development of emerging designers while fostering engagement with community partners to utilize fashion as a vehicle for change. MCFW has re-partnered with Birmingham AIDS Outreach for its multi-day event, set to take place during the week of the 77th Annual Magic City Classic.
