BHAM Juneteenth Celebration

Celebrate freedom from enslavement of African-Americans in the U.S. who were not freed until after the end of the Civil War in April of 1865. We'll begin with with a reading of the Emancipation Proclamation, an elder blessing and libation ceremony followed by the sounds of Birmingham natives NeoSoul artist Love Moor, rapper and singer Richard Daniel, along with DJ SERIOUS on crowd control.

The celebration will also include:

· Magic City Surge basketball game, 3-point contest and performance by the Magic City Surge dance team

· Face painting and moonwalks for children

· Line dance contest

· Greek stroll for sororities and fraternities

· Pop up exhibition and player meet-and-greet with the Negro Southern League Museum

· Food trucks and vendors
